California High Fall Concert

Sunday, Oct. 9, the California High School Choral Department held its fall concert. The concert was all music from the artist Billy Joel. The concert consisted of the Girls Choir who sang "Summer Highland Falls" and "Just the Way You Are." Senior Sounds of Joy member Grant Burger sang a vocal solo "Piano Man." The Men's Choir followed with "Uptown Girl" with featured soloists Luke Burger and Alec Koelling. The Men's Choir also sang "She's Got A Way" with soloist Wyatt Martensen. The Sounds of Joy stepped into the spotlight next to rock out their performance of "For the Longest Time" with soloists Nathanial Caudel, Audrey Imhoff, Jeremy Jungmeyer, Abby Luechenotte, Kirstyn Roush and Tyler Silvey. They moved on to finish their spotlight performance with their final piece "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me." The crowd was then pleased with an amazing piano solo "Root Beer Rag" played by Erin VanDieren. After the pump up jazz played by VanDieren the Women's Choir came on stage and made all their mothers cry as they sang "Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel)." The final performance "And So It Goes" with soloist Courtney Kilmer and "River of Dreams" with soloists Jeremy Jungmeyer, Kassi Meisenheimer, Tristan Opperman and Brandon Embry.
