Seventh grade Lady Pintos end season undefeated

The California Middle School seventh grade volleyball team hosted Versailles for the Lady Pintos' final match of the season Oct. 17, where the Lady Pintos captured a win, 25-23, 25-23, to end the season undefeated 12-0.

“This game displayed some of the best rallying we have seen all season long and really showcased the team’s ability to pass the ball for bump, set, spike,” California Coach Tiffany Brown said.

Monica Whitson led California serves with 14, followed by Cameron Meyer with 13. Meyer led passes with 25, followed by Elaine Vargas with 17. Whitson led attacks with five, followed by Alayna Porter and Emma Bailey with two each.

Previously, California hosted Boonville Oct. 13, where the Lady Pintos won the match 25-8 and 25-15.

Whitson led California serves with 17, followed by Vargas with 11. Meyer led passing with eight, followed by Kayla Allison with five. Meyer and Leanna Reichl had the only two attacks of the game.

“This game was definitely won by us being able to effectively overhand serve the ball consistently,” Brown said.
