California Lady Pintos pocket 9-8 win against Eldon Lady Mustangs

The California High School softball teams hosted Eldon Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the California Sports Complex Tuesday, Aug. 30, where the varsity girls captured a 9-8 win from the Lady Mustangs.

Jessica Hughes pitched the first 3 1/2 innings and recorded two strikeouts, while Elle Miller pitched the last 3 1/2 innings, recording two strikeouts and ultimately the win.

"The Eldon team has really come a long way since last year," California Coach Jack Lake said. "You can see their coach has really pushed them to compete."

California led 2-0 after the first inning, however, Eldon has a two-run second inning to even the score at 2-2.
