Jamestown captures third place finish at CCAA Conference Tourney

The Jamestown Lady Eagles participated in the CCAA Conference Softball Tournament Sept. 9-10 at Prairie Home, where they captured a third place finish.

In first-round action Friday, Jamestown, seeded third, defeated sixth-seeded Higbee 16-1.

Morgan Imhoff recorded the win with four strikeouts. Stephanie Birkmann recorded three strikeouts.

"Morgan and Stephanie combined for a no-hitter," Jamestown Coach E.H. Hirschvogel said. "Higbee's one run came from a walk, a stolen base and error, and a passed ball."

Taylor Muri led Jamestown hits with a homerun, and a double and five RBI. Lauren Imhoff also had a homerun, her first, a single and one RBI. Taylor Johnson had a homerun and two RBI, and Morgan Imhoff contributed a triple, a double, a single and two RBI.
