Russellville defeats Iberia 5-0

The Russellville High School softball teams traveled to Iberia Thursday, Sept. 8, where the varsity Lady Indians captured a 5-0 win. Miranda Hill recorded the win with five strikeouts and allowed only two hits.

"Miranda pitched a great game," Russellville Coach Trisha Black said.

Hannah Campbell led Russellville hits with a triple and a single. Emma Koestner, Cassandra Carter and Kaitlynn Bungart each contributed two singles.

"Our girls were ready to play tonight," Black said. "They were solid in the field and did a great job of getting runners into scoring position at the plate."
