CMS Pintos win season openers at Eldon

The California Middle School football teams opened the season with games at Eldon Sept. 13, where both Pinto teams defeated the Mustangs.

The seventh grade Pintos defeated Eldon 14-8.

"The seventh grade team’s first game is one where we try to keep mistakes to a minimum and execute what we have been practicing since camp, basic fundamentals," CMS Head Football Coach Bob Staton said.

The seventh grade Pintos ended up with 117 rushing yards and 15 passing yards.

Hunter Baquet led Pinto rushing with 39 yards.

"Hunter had one long touchdown run nullified by a penalty," Staton said. "He runs hard and should do well in future games."
