California defeats Eldon in first round of Tri-County Conference Tourney

The California High School varsity softball team faced Eldon in first-round action at the Tri-County Conference Tournament Sept. 21 at Eldon, where the Lady Pintos defeated the Lady Mustangs 4-1.

Elle Miller recorded the win with three strikeouts. Taylor Ratcliff led California hits with a triple and two RBI. Rachel Oerly followed with a single and RBI, while Miller contributed a triple and Alayna York chipped in with two singles.

California will play Warsaw at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday). The winner will face the winner of the Osage/Blair Oaks game tonight in the championship game.

Previously, California hosted Warsaw Sept. 19, where both Lady Pinto teams lost to the Lady Wildcats.
