California Lady Pintos capture first place at Marshal Invitational

The California High School girls golf team participated in the Marshall Invitational Sept. 19 at Indian Foothills Golf Course, where the Lady Pintos came away with first place, defeating seven teams with 391. Smith-Cotton followed with 396 and Warrensburg finished third with 397.

California's Tanner Roberts was the runner-up for medalist with 84. Rylee Glenn finished with 101, Ellie Hamilton, 102, Haley Goans, 104, and Becca Hamilton, 115.

"I'm excited about the way we played today," California Coach Lance Conner said. "The last match was our lowest 9-hole total for the season and now we have our lowest 18-hole team score of the year. Tanner played great in all aspects of the game. We really do rely a lot on her to set the table with scoring, but all of our girls are contributing now and are starting to really make progress in their shot making.
