The Rev. James Mueller, full-time Chaplain at Heisinger Bluffs and St. Joseph's Bluffs (residential care facilities run by Lutheran Senior Services), Jefferson City, was the guest for the Mission Festival held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, Sunday, Sept. 25. Members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Fork, and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pleasant Grove, were present for the special service which focused the local mission at home and "over there" according to Rev. Luther Herman, pastor of the three Lutheran churches represented.

"We were celebrating God's presence in our lives,' Rev. Herman said, "and we were celebrating God's presence going out to the lives of the people around us."

Highlights of service included several hymns sung with accompaniment by Monica Herman on organ, Bible readings out of Philippians and Matthew, a mission offering for the District and Synod (nearby Ashland, NE Columbia "Lifebridge" and Amigos de Cristo, Sedalia), and both a sermon and informational presentation by Rev. Mueller.

"It was very pleasant just getting to meet all the members here," Rev. Mueller said. "Some I have already known and met before. But it was great to see them and they gave me a very warm reception. It was a pleasure. The group size was about the same as what I minister to on Sunday mornings. It was just a joy to share what the mission is at Lutheran Senior Services and my mission as a Chaplain."
