Cole County R-1 School Board Meets

The Cole County R-1 School Board held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, March 15.

Under new business, the Board adopted the agenda, administrators presented their reports and voted to approve the consent agenda as presented. The Board approved a payroll fund transfer of $190,000.

The Board approved the Parents as Teachers Program report and the Instructional Climate Program report as presented. The April Board meeting will be moved to April 10, at 6:30 p.m., to meet the law requiring school boards to reorganize within 10 days after the April election. In addition, the June Board meeting will be moved to June 14, at 6:30 p.m.

In closed session, the Board accepted letters of resignation from Rick Pace, Kristen Behrns, Hilary Sifling, Gala Dempsey, Jessica McCune, David Cook and Vicky King. The Board voted to employ Gayla Spencer as the girl's golf coach for junior high and high school and Lindsy Bailey as the assistant girls' basketball coach. The Board also voted to employ Lauren Novak, Laurie Bonchonsky, Robin Gier, Amy Schroer, Russel Foster, Sheri Koestner, Spencer, Matthew Wessel, Cherri Williams, Trisha Black, David Coulston, Kate Lootens, Brent Mettlen, Michelle Mills, Shawn Smith, Michelle Ford, Stephanie Kirchner and Anne Brenneke as teachers for the 2012-2013 School Year. The Board also voted to employ Jerry Koestner and Tina Sellner as part-time teachers.

The April Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10.
