Many came out to the Annual Spaghetti Dinner held Saturday, April 14, at the Fortuna Senior Citizens Center to raise funds for the 2012 Mid-Missouri Missions Project to be held July 21-28. This will be the eighth year for the weeklong missions event which brings together several churches in the area and other churches which travel from other states to mid-Missouri to help with local service projects.

"The spaghetti dinner has been our major fundraiser since we started," Kevin Kohler, pastor at Calvary Baptist Church and co-founder and president of 3MT, said. "All the items we served at the dinner were donated by many people, so this was all pure profit for the project. We also have donated items which will be auctioned off in a silent and live auction by Dick Hutchison who donated his services."

Kohler said 3MT has gone very well over the years and has run smoothly. He relayed the story of how 3MT came about when Paul Posey, former pastor of First Baptist Church, Tipton, and he, who at the time was pastor of Fortuna Baptist Church, talked about doing a joint project between the churches to serve others in the area. After coming up with the idea and praying about it, they started making calls and Kohler said it has surpassed what they both could have ever imagined.
