The Pintos led 1-0 after the first inning, then added four runs in the fourth to lead 5-0. "We haven't had a lot of big innings so far, so maybe this will break the ice and get things going in that direction," California Coach Dwight Fitzwater said.

Osage scored run in the seventh innning, and ultimately claimed the loss, 5-1.

"Great pitching and good defense was the difference for us," Fitzwater said. "Our pitching was superb. Addison Jobe allowed no hits, struck out eight and had no walks. Alec Koelling pitched the last three innings and struck out four, allowed only one earned run on one hit, and walked one. A total of 12 strikeouts in one game is awesome."
