Prairie Home tracksters compete at California Meet

The Prairie Home varsity track team competed at the California Invitational April 10, where the Panthers finished in fifth place with 38 points, while the Lady Panthers finished sixth with 31.

"We clearly have a long way to go before the end of the season, but I'm very proud of how the kids are working and improving so far," Prairie Home Coach Garon Overfield said. "It should be an interesting end to the season."

Top finishers for the Prairie Home girls are as follows: Taylor Zey, sixth place in Shot Put with 27'1", and first in Discus Throw with 93'2"; Brooke Emmerich, fourth in the 100 Meter Hurdles with 21.56 and seventh in the 300 Meter Hurdles with 1:00.85; Jessie Kennedy, eighth in the 800 Meter with 3:43; Josey Wright, sixth in the 100 Meter Hurdles with 22.06, fourth in the 400 Meter with 1:13, and seventh place in the Long Jump with 11'10".
