Stonner Furniture Serving Tipton Area for 40 Years
Tuesday, April 17, 2012
In 1971, Cary Stonner, owner of Stonner Furniture, got a call from his father Nelson Stonner saying he bought them a furniture store. Forty years later, Stonner Furniture has continued to offer top quality furniture including La-Z-Boy recliners and upholstery items from Justice, Mayo and Cochran along with Justice and Southerland Bedding.
"We are a sit and sleep type of store," Stonner said. "Years ago we did everything from paint and linoleum to roller shades and carpet cleaning. But since 1978 we have specialized in just the area of recliners, sofas, sleepers and bedding."
The original store location was in downtown Tipton where it was known as Scott Furniture store. In 1978, Stonner moved the store to its present location at 604 South Highway 5, Tipton.
