The California High School varsity track team competed in a meet at Boonville April 13, where the Pintos finished in second place overall, out of eight teams. The Lady Pintos finished in seventh place.
Chillicothe won the boys' division with 152 points, followed by California with 125 and
Richmond with 109. Chillicothe also won the girls' division with 159, followed by Odessa with 107 and Richmond with 104. (California finished with 55 points.)
"This was a good meet for us because there was really good competition, which is what we need this time of year," California Coach Rick Edwards said. "We went in a little thin on the boys' side with our top pole vaulter gone and two of our faster sprinters out with injuries, but we competed hard and came in second, which I was very happy with."
