Jamestown C-1 School Board Meets

The Jamestown C-1 School Board held its regular monthly meeting on July 12.

The Board accepted the resignation of Lisa Milligan.

Elementary Principal Ellen Ash reported she has registered to purchase four Promethian smartboards and PTO has voted to give $200 towards the purchase. Ash also reported there would be a back to school fair on July 28, at California High School.

In old business, the 2012-2013 Student Handbooks were approved.

In new business, the 2011-2012 final budget was approved. School lunch prices were discussed and the issue was tabled until more information can be obtained on the cost associated with preparing lunches. The 2012-2013 athletic passes were approved at $35 for an individual and $75 for families. The out of district tuition rates were approved at $4,000. The dairy bid through Prairie Farms was approved at $.25 for white milk and $.35 for chocolate milk. The fuel bid by MFA Oil was also approved.

A special Tax Rate Hearing will be held at 7 p.m., Aug. 9, in the Jamestown C-I School Art Room. Afterward, the School Board will hold its regularly scheduled meeting.
