Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Cole County

• Route D bridge over Logan Creek in Lohman - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through late August. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

• U.S. 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC - Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.

Crews are implementing acceleration and deceleration lanes, offset turn lanes, lighting and other lane modifications.

Crews continue work in the Route CC and Shepherd Hills Road areas, with periodic lane closures expected.

The east entrance to Monticello Road is scheduled to reopen Tuesday.

One lane of 54 in each direction will remain open at all times. However, motorists should be prepared for possible delays.

The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in the fall.

• Missouri Boulevard between Missouri 179 and Ohio Street - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route D between U.S. 54 and Route C - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation will begin the week of Aug. 6. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route Z between Missouri 179 and Old U.S. 50 - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation will begin the week of Aug. 6. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Boone County

• U.S. 63 from just north of Missouri 163 to Route H - Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures in both northbound and southbound lanes.

The 163 and Route AB crossovers north of the overpass construction will be closed periodically. Motorists will need to use the next available crossover or overpass to the north and south.

Route H is temporarily closed at 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.

Motorists should be prepared for periodic reductions in speed limits through the work area.

The entire project is scheduled for completion late this year.

• Missouri 163 between Business Loop 70 and Rogers Street in Columbia - Sidewalk construction continues.

Motorists should expect lane closures along northbound 163 during construction. Minor delays are possible.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in September.

• Route K between 163 and the end of state maintenance - Grading, drainage, widening and paving. Periodic lane closures may occur, and motorists are advised to use caution through the area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in December.

Callaway County

• Missouri 94 bridge over Eagle Creek west of Portland - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through late August. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

• Route VV between Route C and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday and Tuesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route AD between Route C and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday and Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Camden County

• Missouri 5 bridge over the Lake of the Ozarks at Hurricane Deck - Bridge replacement continues.

Much of the work currently taking place will not affect traffic. However occasional lane closures on the bridge are likely for the next several weeks, as crews work alongside the bridge.

One lane of the current bridge will be closed for approximately 5 to 6 hours Tuesday.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in spring 2014.

Gasconade County

• U.S. 50 bridge over the Gasconade River west of River Road - Bridge maintenance will take place Wednesday, Aug. 8, and Thursday, Aug. 9. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Maries County

• Route A bridge over Spring Creek south of U.S. 63 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge will be closed to traffic through mid-August. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Maries and Osage counties

• U.S. 63 between Missouri 42 and Route P - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

• Missouri 17 bridge over Saline Creek south of Saline Road - Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic during the construction. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. The entire project is scheduled for completion in early September.

• Missouri 52 bridge over Humphreys Creek west of Whalen Creek Road - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through late August. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

• Missouri 42 between Route U and Spring Branch Road - Culvert pipe maintenance will take place Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route KK between Missouri 17 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route TT between Missouri 42 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route K between Missouri 89 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
