The Second Annual Waylon Martensen 'Endure The Race' 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, at the California High School track. The event is hosted by the CHS track and cross country teams in memory of Waylon Martensen, a four-year member of the CHS track team who continued his passion for running at Northwest Missouri State University until his death May 7, 2010.
"Last year it was a new event, but a huge succes," Event coordinator Gwen Kirby said. "This is the only fundraiser the cross country team has, so we would love to see everyone come out and join in the fun. People can just come and watch if they don't want to run or walk."
