Morris Burger of Burger's Smokehouse, California, was the recipient of the 2012 AAMP Achievement Award. The award was given at the 73rd American Association of Meat Processor's convention held in St. Paul, Minn., July 26-28.
Burgers' Smokehouse was started by Morris' father in 1952 and continues to be a thriving business today, due in part to Morris' dedication in producing quality hams, as well as bacon, sausage and a variety of other speciality meats. Morris is also a member of the AAMP Cured Meats Hall of Fame in recognition of his high quality processed meat products. His many years of leadership, knowledge and active participation in the meat industry is why he is deserving of this award.
