California first grade holds Christmas program

The California R-I Elementary School first graders Christmas program, “Santa and the Star Search,” was held Thursday, Dec. 13, in the CHS auditorium. The program was directed by Stacy Friedrich.

The story line was of a contest between eight stars for the top spot on the tree for Christmas. The first grade classes sang “Come Out and Sparkle,” “We’ve Waited So Long,” “It’s Up to You” with solos by Evelyn McGill and Emilee Weedon; “He Cares” with soloist Kelsey Wadley, and “It’s Christmas Time.”

Santa Claus—Gavin Porter and Mrs. Claus—Kelsey Wadley were of course among the main

characters. Others were the Stars: Twinkle—Natalie Asmus; Star Light—Jaida Belt; Wink—Brylee Birdsong; Falling Star—Madysen Brown; Star Beam—Emmary Williams; Pointer—Isabelle Rohrbach; Star Dust—Myra Silvey; and Star Gazer—Kwynnon Duvall.

Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Stars and 16 elves were backed up by the Star Search Choir.
