Slick roads result in accidents

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported two accidents on Highway 87 due to slideoffs.
The first was reported to have occurred at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, when a 1996 Mazda, driven northbound by Paula Earls, Russellville, slid on the ice-covered Moreau Creek bridge in Moniteau County, striking the guardrail on each side before coming to rest.
The driver was reported taken to Capital Region Medical Center with minor injuries. The second was reported to have occurred at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, when a 2001 Mustang, driven southbound by Kayla D. Kennedy, Clarksburg, slid off the left side of the highway at Salem Road in Miller County, striking a ditch.
Both drivers were reported wearing seat belts. The Mazda was reported having sustained extensive damage.
