Several local businesses and offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 20 for President's Day.

Central Bank, Commerce Bank, Hawthorn Bank and People's Bank will all be closed, as will the United States Post Office, the Moniteau County Courthouse, California City Hall and California R-I Schools.

The California Democrat will be open as usual for business.

California residents awoke to a wintry mix blanketing the area Monday morning as road crews worked steadily to stay ahead of the snow forecast for mid-Missouri, up to four inches, by nightfall.
