California's Austin Gump sparked the Pintos with 3:31 left to play as he sank a 3-pointer that put California within one point of the Falcons, 36-35. Dylan Albertson then hit two free throws to give the Pintos a 37-36 lead. With 1:37 remaining, Jerry Lutz grabbed the ball past midcourt and sprinted down to score a layup and improve the Pintos' lead to 39-36. Curtis Lehman added a layup and Albertson hit two more free throws to give California a 43-36 security blanket with 1:01 remaining, enough of a lead to hold on, add a few more points and take the win.
