This year, Dale Rowles is doing something unusual - celebrating his birthday on the actual date of his birth.
Rowles, who lives in Wardsville, was born at Latham Sanitarium in California on Feb. 29, 1964, son of Don and Norma Jean Rowles. He was featured on the front page of the March 5, 1964, California Democrat as a Leap Year baby. He had a sister, Lexi.
Technically, he didn't have another birthday until Feb. 29, 1968. Although he turned 12 today as far the date is concerned, he is fully aware of being 48.
