As the new year started, California resident Chris Pickering began a challenging new job, that of Missouri Homeland Security Coordinator.
Around California, Pickering is best known for his participation in community activities which involve children.
"I intend to keep as involved as possible in community activities," he said.
Active in scouting and a coach in Youth Football, the fifth and sixth grade league, Pickering said, "I will find it hard to give up coaching."
