Growing up on a farm in Barnard, Dr. Stephen Byergo, D.V.M., became fascinated by the practice of veterinary medicine while watching the local veterinarian come out and work. Since starting his practice, Tipton Veterinary Clinic, LLC, in 1971, Byergo has served the Tipton community's veterinary needs for over 40 years.
"Since I was young it was all I ever wanted to do," Byergo said. "Eventually I started helping out and got to work with animals."
To become a veterinarian, Byergo went to school at the University of Missouri, Columbia. First starting out in Pre-Veterinary school which can take two to four years and then moving on to Veterinary school which takes four years, Byergo went to school for six years total to become a veterinarian. After school, he saw Tipton as a viable place to start his practice.
