Freshman Pintos lose to West. Jr.

California's freshman boys basketball team hosted Columbia's West Jr. Saturday, where the Pintos suffered a 49-36 loss.

"We came out a little sluggish in the first quarter, which has identified this team this year," California Coach Dustin Jeffries said. "For some reason, we've just been a second-half team, and the same was true Saturday. We were outscored 29-13 in the first half, but outscored a fairly good team 23-20 in the second half."
