Dorothy L. Cartwright, age 90 of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012.
Dorothy graduated from Aurora High School in California, Mo. and lived in Ferguson, Mo., most of her life. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Emerson Electric in St. Louis for many years. She was a member of P.E.O. chapter HL and Ferguson United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Cartwright; son, David Cartwright; and siblings, Joseph, Brooks, Charlotte and Esther Gattermeir. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Paul (Jan Novy) Cartwright of Helena, Mont., Steven (Pat) Cartwright of Centerville, Ohio, and Jim (Cindy) Cartwright of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Alan, Kate, Brendan, Caitlin, Maura and Colin Cartwright, Lisa Silverman and Stephanie Finkelstein; great-granddaughter, Hirut Silverman; and many other extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at the Masonic Cemetery in California, Mo. at a later date.

Sue Lorene Chaffin, age 83, died January 15, 2012 in Green Valley, Arizona.
Sue was born July 18, 1928 to Wilbur and Emma Schlup in California, Missouri.
Sue served as a Girl Scout and Campfire Girls leader and a hospital volunteer throughout the USA as John's career with the U.S. Forest Service took them throughout the country.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Chaffin.
Surviving are two nephews, Fred Bloch (Geanine), Lebanon, Missouri, and Paul Bloch (Becky), California, Missouri; and two nieces, Sherry Walters, Asheville, North Carolina, and Vicki Walters, Pontiac, Michigan.
Estella Darlene Gerloff, age 70, of California, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012, at her home.
She was born January 21, 1941, in Jackson County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Albert Emerald and Leahbella Velma Shoop Landreth. On April 7, 1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was united in marriage to Richard O. Gerloff, who survives of the home.
Darlene was a member of the Kingdom Hall in California, Missouri.
She enjoyed singing and playing music on her guitar. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, gardening, crocheting, and telling stories.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her sons, Anthony Gerloff of Sedalia, Missouri, Jerry Gerloff of California, Missouri, James Gerloff and wife Amber of Jefferson City, Missouri; her daughters, Royetta Lynn Gerloff-Moore of California, Missouri, Freda Beacham and husband Dwayne, Sr. of Merriam, Kansas, Belinda Faulkner and husband Brian, Sr. of Clarksburg, Missouri, and Lynda Gerloff of Columbia, Missouri; 20 grandchildren, Christopher Gerloff, Tabetha Schilb, Stephen Doan, Jeremy Beacham, Dwayne Beacham, Jr., Leah Knipp, Tiffany Beacham, Anthony Gerloff, Jr., Julie Lowell, Travis Kerksiek, Dustin Kerksiek, Brian Faulkner, Jr., Robert Faulkner, Richard Gerloff, Sarah Gerloff, Jacob Gerloff, Cody Gerloff, Csena Dove Walker, Benjamin Walker, and Kenny Jones; 26 great-grandchildren; her sister, Royetta May Landreth Ronn and husband Paul Thomas of California, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Arnold Gerloff; two brothers, Albert Emerald Landreth, Jr. and Richard Floyd Landreth; and three sisters, Bonnie Lou Landreth Martin, Wanda Jo Landreth Ferguson, and Virginia Velma Landreth Lowell.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Graveside services and interment followed in the Versailles Cemetery.

Richard John “Dick” Kroll, 74, of Lohman, died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at St. Mary’s Health Center.
Richard was born on January 28, 1937, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Sam Herman and Anne Mary Gerhardt Kroll.
He served in the United States Army.
He was united in marriage on October 24, 1959, in Jefferson City, to Dorothy Marie Schepers who resides at the home.
In his early years, Richard worked for his grandfather and father on the family farm in the Frog Hollow area. Later Richard worked for the Union Carpenters Local 945 and owned and operated Kroll Insulation.
Richard was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. Richard loved to go to auctions and visit with all his friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Schepers) Kroll of Lohman; six children, Mark (Deidre) Kroll of St. Louis; Elizabeth (Darryl) Williams; Rita Kroll, both of Jefferson City; Patricia (Steve) Luckenotte of Ashland; Sam (Bongkoch) Kroll of St. Louis; and Rebecca Kroll of Dexter; his grandson Ian (Hillary) Williams, St, Louis; granddaughter Sophia Kroll, St. Louis; and a sister, Mary Stegeman, Jefferson City.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; his son, Raymond Kroll; his daughter Katherine Kroll; a sister, Ruth Brauner; and a brother, Tom Kroll.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.

Lee Burtam Murray, 85, of California, Mo., passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, Mo.
Lee was born January 2, 1927 in Centertown, Mo., to Harvey and Annie Johnson Murray. He was married in 1949 to Eva May Pfeiffer who preceded him in death in 1979. He was later married to Juanita Williams. On February 4, 1984 he was united in marriage to Vernie Lee Garrison who survives at the home.
Lee was a veteran of the Navy and served in the Pacific theater during WWII. Lee worked on the railroad and was most recently employed at Von Hoffman Press until his retirement. He was a past president of the Central Missouri CB Radio Club and a member of the American Legion. He loved bluegrass music and he and his wife traveled to many festivals as long as his health permitted. He helped his wife babysit local children for many years in their home. Lee enjoyed cooking especially catfish and barbecue.
Other survivors include one brother John Murray of California, Mo.; two sisters Rosetta Horn of Centertown, Mo., and Mayme Baumgartner of California, Mo., as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Thomas Murray, and five sisters, Lula Maier, Flossie Mathews, Laverne Wilson, Sarah Leonard and Ann Swillum.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Roll Funeral Home Chapel, California, Mo.
