The vocal music teachers discussed their programs and resources with the California R-I School Board at its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Elementary music teacher Stacy Friedrich informed the board of the need to update the material used in the music classes. She said it is best if all are replaced at once, since some are up to 15 years old.
Middle school music teacher Marcia Burgher said it has been a "joy to be here." Some of the middle school material is also very outdated, especially for the sixth grade. She said the students are advancing well and next years eighth grade class can be expected to be very good.
