The California Pintos faced Hallsville in first-round action at the Southern Boone Classic Tuesday afternoon at Ashland, where they defeated the Bulldogs 63-49.
California advances to the semifinal round where the Pintos will play the winner of Tuesday's North Callaway vs. Fatima game at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
