No water crisis in city at this time

"As of right now, we're not in any type of water crisis," said Kyle Wirts, city of California Water and Wastewater supervisor. "All wells are up and running. We're in good shape."

The continuing dry weather has led to many residents watering their yards, gardens, trees and shrubs.

"We don't plan at this time to ask people to cut back on water usage," Wirts said. " If we have a well go down, that could change."

He has seen the sprinklers going at all times of the day and night, and while Wirts has no real advice on the best time to water, he suggested it be done in the late evening or at night.

"Watering at night during low-usage times puts less strain on the city system," Wirts said.
