Chambers join MRED in search of economic development

Representatives of Tipton and California Chambers of Commerce joined the Moniteau County Regional Economic Development Council (MRED) on Wednesday, July 11, to determine common factors in the county which are crucial to additional growth and development in the county.

In an effort to market the entire county, several questions were brought before the group with discussion and suggestions leading to suggested answers.

The first two questions were posed as sentences to be completed with the ideas of those present.

1) Moniteau County is the best place to conduct business because: high standards, quality of workforce, 78 percent drive out, an unknown number drive in, good infrastructure (Highway 50 is four lanes), quality of life, environmental quality, rail access, Enhanced Enterprise Zone, broadband, low quantity of workforce, the Dream Initiative (California).
