Indoor municipal swimming pool open

Swimmers at California's municipal indoor swimming pool which opened Monday, June 11, may take note of the improved appearance even if the extensive equipment and operation upgrades go unnoticed.

The work was made necessary due to leaks which had caused shifts in the pool basin. Because the pool was tilted, the guttering system was not operating correctly. Therefore, the filtering system, heating system and chlorination system were also not working correctly. An additional problem was that all three pools shared the filtering, heating, chlorination and drain system.

Each pool is now required to be completely separate in operations. All filters, drains and other systems are required to be specific to one pool.
