New Hope Baptist Church, Centertown, held its Vacation Bible School June 10-15. The theme was "Amazing Wonders Aviation: Encountering God's Awesome Power." The church had an enrollment of 65 children and volunteers and averaged 48 during the VBS held at the church located on Route N. The offering taken each night went to the Chaplain Program on the USS Enterprise and to Joplin Disaster Relief. Diane Reed was the VBS director.
