Send-off for Pintos, Lady Pintos to begin with pep rally today

A pep rally will be held at California High School Wednesday, March 7, beginning at 2 p.m., to send the Pinto and Lady Pinto basketball players and coaches off to Class 3 Sectional play at Rolla.

This is the first time in the history of California basketball that both the Pintos and Lady Pintos have won the district championship, in the same season, and it is the first district title for the Pintos since 1990.

During the assembly, both teams will have the privilege of cutting down the basketball nets used at the district tournament, and will be presented the basketballs from the district tourney.

Both teams will be on their way to Rolla at approximately 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend the pep rally. Seats are also available on the pep bus, which will leave at 3:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults. For more information, call 573-796-4911.
