Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Landwehr Hills will be closed at the intersection of McCarty Street for continued work on the East McCarty Phase 2 project.
The closure will last approximately two weeks, weather and construction progress permitting. The work is being done by the Jefferson City Department of Public Works and its contractor, Stockman Construction.
A detour route will be posted.
Starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Jefferson City Department of Public Works will close Idlewood Drive, north of Bluebird Drive.
This closure will allow the street department to replace a storm water pipe.
Weather and construction progress permitting, this work should be completed by the end of the work day.
Cole County
• U.S. 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC - Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.
- Most work on the project is suspended for the winter, but crews will be working off the roadway at Buffalo Road and installing lighting in various locations. Work to install lighting will take place on the shoulder of the roadway.
The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in the fall.
• Missouri 179 between Route C and Edgewood Drive - Grading, drainage and bridge paving for a new interchange. Periodic lane closures may occur, and motorists are advised to use caution through the area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer.
• Route CC between U.S. 54 and Route C - Roadway maintenance will take place Thursday and Friday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
• Christy Drive between Stadium Boulevard and the end of state maintenance in Jefferson City - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Wednesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
• Jefferson Street between Stadium Boulevard and the end of state maintenance in Jefferson City - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Wednesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Boone County
• U.S. 63 from just north of Missouri 163 to Route H - Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures.
Route H is temporarily closed at 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.
The contractor continues with bridge construction at Turkey Creek and at Route H.
Motorists should be prepared for periodic reductions in speed limits through the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion late this year.
• Route PP between U.S. 63 and the end of state maintenance - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday through Wednesday, March 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Boone and Callaway counties
• U.S. 63 between Jefferson City and the Randolph County line - Roadway striping will take place during this week. One lane will be open to traffic through the work area. This is a moving operation, and motorists should drive with care through the area.
Callaway County
• U.S. 54 between Jefferson City and the Audrain County line - Roadway striping will take place during this week. One lane will be open to traffic through the work area. This is a moving operation, and motorists should drive with care through the area.
• Route D between Interstate 70 and Missouri 94 - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
• Route K between Route D and the Montgomery County line - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Wednesday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Camden County
• U.S. 54 at the Missouri 5 interchange in Camdenton - Sidewalk construction and ramp widening is under way.
Traffic has been shifted to accommodate the installation of temporary barrier curbs in preparation for sidewalk construction across the 54 overpass bridge.
Motorists should expect lane closures and the narrowing of 54 traffic lanes through the interchange area during construction. Minor delays are possible.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in mid-May.
Maries County
• Missouri 28 bridge over Dry Fork two miles south of Route Z - Bridge replacement is under way.
The bridge is closed to traffic through early April. Motorists are being detoured around the work area on Routes 63, 42 and Z.
The weight limits on the Route C bridge over Peavine Creek have been upgraded for truck usage. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
• Route BB bridge over the Little Maries River west of County Road 628 - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through early April. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Miller County
• U.S. 54 bridge over Blue Springs Creek west of Route V - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open to traffic in the work area.
• Missouri 17 between Missouri 52 and Route K - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday and Tuesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
• Route JJ between Route C and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Morgan County
• Route C between Missouri 52 and Belleville Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Friday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Osage County
• A bridge-replacement project on Route K over Doolings Creek in Osage County is scheduled to begin Monday, weather permitting.
The bridge is located just south of Chamois. The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. The bridge will remain closed for approximately 45 days.
The closing comes one week after crews began replacing the Missouri 133 bridge over Sugar Creek in Meta. That bridge will be closed through late-April.
The bridge replacements are part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
