Pinto golfers win first match of season

The California High School Pinto golf teams opened the 2012 season with matches at home Monday night at the California Country Club, where the varsity Pintos won their triangular match against Russellville and New Bloomfield.

Rodney Block brought the jazz to Riverfest 2008.

California finished with 162, followed by New Bloomfield with 198. (Russellville only had three players present; not enough for a team score.)

"Considering the windy, wet conditions, the boys really played pretty well," California Coach Doug Miller said. "I hope that's an indication of how our season is going to go."
