After hosting the season opener against Eugene March 19, the California Pinto baseball teams had no action on the diamond for the rest of the week because scheduled games at Cole Camp and Mexico (March 20 and March 24) were canceled due to rain.

The Pintos, however, were back in action Monday night with games against Russellville at the California Sports Complex, where the varsity suffered a tough 14-0 loss to the Indians.

"Offensively we played the same as we did in our first game," California Coach Dwight Fitzwater said. "We've been matched up with two very good pitchers and we struggled to generate any offense."

Russellville's Chandler Wolf recorded the win with 14 strikeouts.
