At a business in Centertown about noon Wednesday, March 21, officers representing the Sheriff's Departments of both Cole and Moniteau counties surround a vehicle which was driven by a person sought as a result of a shooting incident. According to Capt. John Wheeler, Cole County Sheriff's Department, the incident began in Cole County when a firearm was introduced into a dispute between a father and son with shots fired by the father. No injuries were reported from the incident. The shooter reportedly left the scene and headed for Moniteau County. Deputies from both counties responded. According to Wheeler, the incident was resolved when an eastbound Cole County Deputy responding to the scene passed the westbound suspect, made a u-turn and went after him with emergency lights on. Wheeler said there was never a real pursuit, since the suspect vehicle pulled over to the side of the road when the deputy caught up. He was taken into custody.
