California High School students competed at the Tri-County Music Contest at Osage, where many received top ratings. The CHS Chamber Choir, Men's Choir and Women's Choir each received a 1 Rating, while the CHS Mixed Choir received a 2 Rating. A number of vocal solos and small ensembles received 1 and 2 Ratings as well.
"We had an awesome day and I'm really looking forward to districts, when we will have everyone with us and hopefully everyone healthy," CHS Choral Director Michele Bilyeu said.
The district contest will be held Saturday, March 31, at Miller Performing Arts Center, Jefferson City. The CHS Choral Spring Concert will follow the district competition, at 7 p.m. May 3 at the CHS Performing Arts Center.
