Pintos lose close contest to Wildcats

The California High School baseball teams traveled to Warsaw April 23, where the varsity lost a close contest to the Wildcats, 6-5.

"We just couldn't shut the door on Warsaw," California Coach Dwight Fitzwater said. "We out-played them for six innings, then allowed the big inning in the seventh to relinquish the game."

After two innings, the score was an even 1-1, however, the Pintos scored four in the third inning, to Warsaw's one, to lead 5-2 going into the fourth inning. The Wildcats added one run in the fourth to trail 5-3. After a scoreless fifth and sixth inning, Warsaw drove three runs home in the seventh to take over the lead and ultimately the win, 6-5.
