Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Cole County

• U.S. 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC - Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of U.S. 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.

  • Crews are working off the roadway at Buffalo Road and installing lighting in various locations. Work to install lighting will take place on the shoulder of the roadway. The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in the fall.

• Missouri 179 between Route C and Edgewood Drive - Grading, drainage and bridge paving for a new interchange. Periodic lane closures may occur, and motorists are advised to use caution through the area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer.

• Horner Road between Big Horn Drive and Truman Boulevard - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Boone County

• U.S. 63 from just north of Missouri 163 to Route H - Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures.

  • Route H is temporarily closed at 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.

  • Motorists should be prepared for periodic reductions in speed limits through the work area.

The entire project is scheduled for completion late this year.

Boone and Callaway counties

• Interstate 70 bridge over Big Cedar Creek at mile marker 137 - Bridge maintenance in the westbound lanes continues through Friday. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Callaway County

• Route PP bridge over Middle Creek west of County Road 470 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic through late May. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

• Route CC between Missouri 94 and Route O - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Camden County

• U.S. 54 at the Missouri 5 Interchange in Camdenton - Sidewalk construction and ramp widening is under way.

  • Night-time striping is planned Monday. One lane will be closed during that part of the operation.

  • Traffic has been shifted to accommodate the installation of temporary barrier curbs in preparation for sidewalk construction across the U.S. 54 overpass bridge.

  • Motorists should expect lane closures and the narrowing of U.S. 54 traffic lanes through the interchange area during construction. Minor delays are possible. The entire project is scheduled for completion in mid-May.

Maries County

• Missouri 42 bridge over Mills Spring west of County Road 319 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic through late May. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

• Route V bridge over Little Fly Creek south of Vienna - Bridge replacement is complete. The bridge was opened to traffic Thursday. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Miller County

• Route Z between Route W and Route Y - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

• Missouri 135 between U.S. 50 and Missouri 52 - Roadway resurfacing is complete. Striping is planned for the upcoming week. One lane will be open to traffic through the work area. This is a moving operation, and motorists should drive with care through the area.

• Missouri 5 between Route O and Route RA - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Phelps and Maries counties

• Route E between Interstate 44 in Phelps County and the end of state maintenance in Maries County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
