The California Pintos faced Southern Boone County Monday in the first round of the Class 3 District 9 Baseball Tournament at Osage to finish a game that was started Saturday, but stopped mid-game due to rain. The contest was completed Monday, where the Pintos ultimately defeated the Eagles 5-3.
Southern Boone led 1-0 after one inning and 3-0 after two. California added two runs in the third to trail 3-2. After a scoreless fourth inning, the Pintos added three runs in the fifth inning to lead 5-3. Two remaining scoreless innings left the win with California.
Addison Jobe recorded the win for the Pintos and allowed three unearned runs on 10 hits, had no walks and had seven strikeouts.
