Chamber to sponsor house lighting/decorating contest

Residents of California are encouraged to "deck their yard" and display their Christmas spirit this holiday season through lighting and/or other means of lawn decorations. Judging this year will take place Dec. 13-15, 5-10 p.m. Judging will be based solely on curb appeal. All residents, both within and outside the city limits, are asked to notify Diane at the chamber office (573-796-3040) to ensure a visit from the judges.

Winners will receive award certificates and Chamber Buck gift certificates in the amounts of $50, $25 and $15 respectively for first, second and third places. Signs will be placed in the yards to designate the winners and will remain throughout the holiday season. House Decoration Committee members are: Robin Ratcliff representing The Flower Shop for All Occasions, Shelly Hampton representing Peoples Bank of Moniteau County and Tammy Bleich representing USDA.
