Lee R. Logsdon, 86, of California, Mo., passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Moniteau Care Center.

He was born on May 2, 1926 in Sturgeon, Mo., the son of Sylvester and Rena Logsdon, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on September 27, 1947, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Earlene Pointer who also preceded him in death.

Lee worked for 25 years for a printing company in Columbia, Mo., as a commercial printer. Lee and his wife managed Sugar Creek Estates Trailer Park and Homes in Fenton, Mo., from 1975-1982. Lee also worked for the California R-1 Schools as a custodian for 20 years. He was a member of the California United Methodist Church, was a graduate of Sturgeon High School and served in the United States Navy in World War II.

He is survived by one son, William "Bill" Lee Logsdon of Cape Coral, Fla. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, Mo. Burial with full military honors was in California City Cemetery. Officiating was Pastor Steve Jones.

Memorials are suggested to the California R-1 Elementary Swimming Program, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018.

O'MARA

Janet Karen (Peck) O'Mara, 68, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 in Bellingham, Wash., after a 16-year battle with breast cancer.

She was born Feb. 22, 1944, daughter of the late Ray and Audrey Hickam Peck. She was married to Peter O'Mara who survives.

She was a 1962 graduate of California High School.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Laura and Erin; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be set by the family at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jems Funeral Chapel, Maple Falls, Wash.

SCHROEDER

Geraldine A. Bowlin-Woodard Paxson Schroeder, 88, died on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her residence in Jefferson City.

She was born on July 29, 1924, on a farm between Salem and McGirk, Mo., to Roy and Mable (Kirchoff) Bowlin, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Roy (Junior) Woodard in 1941. He was killed in World War II. She was married in 1946, to Everett Paxson who preceded her in death. In 1987 she married Denis Schroeder, who also preceded her in death.

She worked at the California Jacket Factory and cooked for many years at the Nic-Nac Café and Bill's Drive-In in California. She was a member of St. Joseph's Cathedral in Jefferson City, Mo., St. George Catholic Church in Linn, and California United Church of Christ. She loved and was loved by all her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Her saying "Be kind to one another" is what she tried to live every day.

Geraldine is survived by three children, Marjorie Medlen and husband Don of Topeka, Kan., Betty Howard and husband Marcus of Jefferson City, and Gene Paxson of Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Mark Medlen and wife Amanda, Laura Medlen McKinney and husband Jason, Andrew Medlen and wife Adria, Aaron Medlen and wife Andrea, and Seth Paxson; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Martin and Joyce Heather, both of California, Mo. She was preceded in death by one brother Chester Bowlin; and one sister, Dorothy Hackney Duncan.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial was in California City Cemetery next to her first husband, Roy (Jr.) Woodard. Officiating was Fr. Dylan Schrader, assisted by Chaplain Bart Larson.

Memorials are suggested to Salem United Church of Christ or Advantage Hospice, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018.

SMITH

Angel B. Smith, 35, Holts Summit, died Oct. 2, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

She was born Dec. 23, 1976, in Westminster, Calif., daughter of Larry and Maria Smith both of whom survive in Holts Summit.

She is survived by her boyfriend, Casey Wilbers, Holts Summit; one son, Austin Paul Manley; one daughter, Allison Rose Marie Wilbers; one brother, Steven Smith, Holts Summit; and her grandparents. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Daisy Cheyenne Lee Manley.

Funeral Services were held Oct. 6, 2012 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. Burial was in Centertown Cemetery.
