The California High School volleyball teams opened the season with matches at Eugene Tuesday, Aug. 28, where the Lady Pintos captured three wins.
California's varsity defeated the Lady Eagles 25-13 and 25-16. The JVA won 25-15, 23-25 and 25-10, while the JVB won 25-16 and 25-19.
The Lady Pintos traveled to Boonville Thursday, where California's varsity lost 11-25 and 15-25 to the Lady Pirates. The JV defeated Boonville 25-23, 18-25 and 25-15.
"It's early in the season, so we're still figuring out who needs to play where," California Coach Dennis Davis said.
California will host Eldon at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
