Latham begins school in new building

The students at Latham School started on Tuesday, Sept. 4, the day after Labor Day. The late start allowed the school staff to ready the new building, finished only weeks ago, for the school year.

On the first day of school, several local Latham School students make a fast trip to the building as a drenching rain falls.

Although some tasks remain to be completed, and the heavy rain in the morning hampered the arrival of students and teachers, the classrooms were ready for the influx of students on Tuesday morning.

Everyone gathered in the lunchroom. After breakfast and a few words from Administrator Tanya Brown, the students and teachers headed down the hall to their classrooms to be gin, the day, the week and the school year.
