A crash at the intersection of Business 50, Industrial Park Drive and Lookout Trail just east of California caused traffic to be diverted to alternate routes for about an hour. California Police officers and Moniteau County Sheriff's deputies worked the scene and attempted to determine the cause of the accident.
The collision involved a car, a van and a trailer being towed by a pickup just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. It was immediately unclear as to how the accident occurred, but the car ended up in the ditch after sustaining heavy damage. The van, not in the photo, stopped on Industrial Park Road. Though driveable, it sustained heavy damage. The trailer, which remained on the roadway appeared totaled, while the pickup appeared undamaged. The car and van both sustained heavy damage. The trailer was totaled. As seen at the scene of the collision, the tow pickup appeared undamaged. Emergency personnel responded to the scene with a fire truck, a rescue vehicle and an ambulance.
