Lady Pintos fall to Lady Tigers

The California High School softball teams didn't get any action on the diamond last week as each of the three scheduled games (Sept.4 at Linn; Thursday at home against Versailles; and Friday at home against Southern Boone) were cancelled due to weather.

Therefore, the Lady Pintos were happy to be back in the game Monday, hosting Pilot Grove at the California Sports Complex.

After two scoreless innings, California brought two home in the third to lead 2-0 going intothe fourth inning. Pilot Grove scored one run in the fourth and three in the fifth to take over the lead 4-2.

The Lady Tigers added six runs in the final innings to seal the deal 10-2.

Amanda Karbinas led California hits with a double and two RBI to contribute California's only runs of the night. Jessica Hughes also had a double.

California's JV lost 11-3 to the Lady Tigers.

The Lady Pintos will play at Bunceton Thursday, beginning with the varsity game

at 5:30 p.m.
