RUSSELLVILLE - Family Literacy Night is held once a semester at the Cole County R-I Elementary School.
The recent literacy event had the theme "Books and Blankets," asking each child to bring a pillow and blanket to "snuggle up with a great book." They also were encouraged to wear pajamas and bring gently-used books for a a book exchange.
Each of the attending students who participated in a flashlight hunt received a new book.
Other activities included a bookmark-making table, read-aloud stories and refreshments.
About 50 parents and students attended the spring literacy night.
